Don't take a chance, call a professional
Tips to hire a Professional Potlight Installer:
1-Go to www.pluginsafely.ca to ensure that the electrician or electrical company doing the job has an electrical contractor licence number(number begins 700####) & liability insurance.
Having just electrician or master electricians licence doesn't mean that they can legally do any electrical job.
2-Make sure the electrician's vehicle(preferable work truck) has their licence number, logo & company name visible on the outside of the truck. This is an ESA requirement!
3-Professional companies are INC. or LTD.
4-Look for companies who have a website, that are easy to search for on Yahoo or Google.
5-Websites, contracts, advertisements, yellow pages, business vehicles MUST show Electrical Contractor Licence number.
6-Hire a company who invest money in their own company, for example: professional websites, advertising, logos, trade marks, trucks equiped with ladders, up to date tools & equipments.
7-Check if they are an Authorized Contractor Program-ACP (means that they must have a minimum of 20 ESA permits with a defect radio less than 4% in the last year)
8-Most important, is to ask for references, at least 20!
