| Bloor West authors (and parents) Stephen Cain, Jay MillAr and Sharon Harris will soon launch new books from internationally acclaimed Canadian publisher, The Mercury Press. A kid-friendly holiday party and book signing will take place at Another Story Bookshop (315 Roncesvalles Ave.) on December 6, 2006, at 7pm. There will be literacy-friendly goodies for everyone, and an appearance by St. Nick. Books: Sharon Harris: AVATAR. Poems, drawings and photographs for a communications age that often fails to communicate. A cross country tour and art exhibition is being planned for Feb 07. Sharon Harris is a writer/artist/mom-about-town with two children -- you've probably met her in the sandbox at a local park, or chatted with her and the kids at a coffee shop. She is thrilled to be launching her first book, and encourages other parents to follow their dreams. Stephen Cain and Jay MillAr: Double Helix. A collaborative series of 52 micro-fictions. Jay MillAr will tour Ontario and Quebec in late November. Stephen Cain is a professor at York University, father to Cyan (age 2), and step-dad to Garnett (age 8). Jay MillAr publishes books under the imprint BookThug, is father to two boys, and volunteers as a local Cub Scout Leader. Stephen and Jay have authored over a dozen books between them; Double Helix is their first collaboration. An evening out in the neighbourhood -- bring the kids, and get some holiday shopping done!
